good things do come

march of this year, i applied for a scholarship in japan under the monbukagakusho (that's like our DepED). i submitted a research proposal, complete with my detailed activities for the whole year and a half. i wrote something about "the role of japanese language in philippine multilingualism." it sounds very academic. although honestly, i didn't have any idea about the topic... you can call it luck but before april, three professrors from ritsumeikan (the school where i applied to) contacted me thru email and interviewed me. i think i passed that interview part because by may, the school's administrator informed me that they nominated me for a monbukagakusho scholarship. then, last week i got my letter from the school informing me that i got accepted under their program and that i should be in japan between oct 1st to 7th.

i really want this scholarship, so i had to think about the consequences if i do go to japan. everybody's saying i should not let this opportunity pass. i know that. but they don't know how this will affect my family. my parent's are not working anymore, i have two sisters in college, and we are paying debts. i'm not complaining because God has provided us with the things that we need. my friends really wonder how we do it, considering that i don't get much from UP.
last weekend, my parents gave me their consent coz they really know that i want this thing.
i've always thought that God won't give me this chance if he knows it won't do others any good :)
so there. i'll be flying to japan by october. but before that, still have my teaching/studying job here. before october i should have passed 4 term papers and computed grades for 4 classes!!! CALLING SUPERWOMAN RIA!!!
